Dental implants, start to finish, here

Placed and restored by the same clinician. Nobody is handing you between a surgeon you met once and a dentist who did not do the work.

Who they suit

An implant replaces the root of a single tooth. It is the closest thing to what was there before, and it does not involve cutting down the teeth on either side, which a bridge does.

They are not right for everybody. If the bone is not there we will say so at the consultation rather than after you have paid a deposit, and there are good alternatives that cost considerably less.

What happens

A consultation and a scan, then placement under local anaesthetic, which takes about an hour and hurts less than most people expect. Then three to four months while it integrates, and finally the crown.

You are never without a tooth in a visible position. A temporary goes in on the day.

What it costs

Two thousand four hundred dollars for the implant and the crown together. That includes the consultation, the scan, the placement, the temporary, the final crown and the review a year later.

If a bone graft is needed it is four hundred more, and we will know that at the consultation rather than halfway through.
