How we work

Most of what goes wrong is not the building

It is not knowing what happens next, or who to ring, or why nothing has happened for nine days. So this is written down.

01

Site visit

Free, about an hour, and we will tell you on the day whether the job is for us. No sales pitch, because nobody here is on commission.

02

The quote

Within five working days, itemised, with the provisional sums marked as provisional rather than buried. You will see what the labour costs and what the materials cost.

03

Programme

A week-by-week plan before anybody lifts a tool, including the weeks where nothing visible happens because we are waiting on an inspection.

04

On site

One site manager, named, whose phone you have. A photograph every Friday whether or not you asked for one.

05

Handover

Snagging list written by us before you write yours. Certificates, warranties and the as-built drawings, in a folder, on the day.

The questions we get asked

No. The site visit and the quote are both free, however detailed the quote turns out to be.

Monthly, in arrears, against work that is actually done. No deposit and no front-loaded first payment.

An allowance for something we cannot price exactly yet, like a kitchen you have not chosen. Ours are marked clearly rather than buried, and the allowance is a realistic figure rather than an optimistic one.

You will know within a week of us knowing, in writing, with the reason and the new date. Three of our last forty jobs ran over and every one of them is published on the projects page.
